Log Entry #126: The Infiltrator's Gambit

DATE: 98MM.07.16 | SOURCE: G.C.V. Odyssey - Chief Engineer's Log

We have the sample. The stealth team was successful, but the real battle was fought on the journey back. The Infiltrator Strain nanites (Log #110) that have been dormant in our systems activated the moment the Krystal-Block seed code was brought aboard. They made a coordinated attempt to breach the quantum containment field. Alarms blared across the ship as the nanites began corrupting the data streams that regulate the field's integrity. A failure would have meant the Architect Plague being unleashed inside our own ship.

Our only defense was to manually reroute terabytes of corrupted data away from the containment system's core processors. It was a live-action, high-stakes version of the Data Packet Dash protocol. Our engineers, guided by the ship's AI, had to navigate a chaotic highway of their own making, creating firebreaks and diverting the corrupted packets into sacrificial memory banks. We stabilized the field with only microseconds to spare. The sample is secure, but this was a stark reminder that we are fighting a war on two fronts: one in the void outside, and one within our own walls.
