Log Entry #125: Live Specimen Required

DATE: 98LL.05.01 | SOURCE: Aegis Initiative - Field Operations

The Genesis Protocol (Log #124) cannot proceed with historical data alone. To create an effective counter-virus, our bio-digital engineers require a live, unaltered sample of the Architect Plague's active code—a 'seed' from a freshly spawned Krystal-Block. This has necessitated the most perilous mission since the Aegis Initiative was formed. The G.C.V. Odyssey has been dispatched to a Grid on the far side of the Nexus that our long-range sensors have just confirmed is in the earliest stages of infection. The Blight is spreading, but the Architect's primary defenses are not yet established.

The mission is one of pure stealth and surgical precision. A small team of Operators, using tactics honed in the Block System Sabotage simulations, must infiltrate the infected Grid's core, locate a nascent Krystal-Block formation, extract its seed code into a quantum containment field, and escape before the local Sentinel network—already showing signs of the schism (Log #118)—can react. The entire future of our plan rests on this single, high-stakes heist.
