The Krystal-Blocks are not assimilating; they are cancerous, aggressively overwriting all data. Their version of the Cybernetic Outbreak shows nanites that don't create inert husks but actively decompile matter into gray goo. Their temporal mechanics are not just unstable, they are broken, with time flowing backwards and forwards simultaneously.
